Trust
Trust is the first thing that the next board has to establish.
Between the board members, between the European and national level, between functional teams.
Trust takes time to build and comes before the work.
I became a member of Volt when the Danish chapter was founded and Kathrine trusted me to take the role as national policy lead. Volt Denmark trusted me when she stepped down to campaign and elected me as successor Chairman of the board and party lead.
The Country Council gave me their trust when I became Chairman and took the lead of a malfunctioning body with irregular attendance and lack of focus. From that trust, I built a platform of planned agendas and constructive procedures where our national party leaders can coordinate elections, alliances and communications.
The Board gave me their trust when Zuzana asked me to take her place as European Policy Lead and I passed back the national torch. Using that trust, I found Ines and we built a team of facilitators and leads that has implemented and managed our policy process across 3 policy cycles to revise and update our European Policy Portfolio / Mapping of Policies as a living document.
The Board gave me their trust when they asked me to chair our General Assemblies. With that trust, I have organized and moderated policy votes, budget approvals, statute changes and updates to our internal regulations. Outside of GAs, I have continued that work with our Governance Commission.
I am now asking for your trust in my ability to govern, lead and organize our party as a non-executive member of the European Board.
I am asking for your trust in me as a dedicated and engaged Volt member that will continue to work tirelessly to grow our movement, organization, vision and ideals, to further professionalise our party, strengthen our vision, increase member representation, appoint political spokespersons, build political talent from within and mobilise our members so we can win the European Parliament elections in 2024 and ensure the longevity of our hope for a united Europe.
